Happy Back To The Future Day!

Today is Back To The Future Day – celebrating 30 years since the first movie came out… and it’s also the day in the future that the second instalment of the trilogy is set. Yes, that’s right, if we were to believe writer/director Robert Zemeckis’s predictions when he made Back To The Future II in 1989, on October 21, 2015, we should all be dashing around in flying cars, watching a holographic Jaws 19, and drinking Pepsi Perfect.

bgnnnjWell, while you may not be able to experience the first two, Pepsi have released a limited edition drink to celebrate the trilogy’s anniversary that goes on sale today. It looks exactly like the bottle Marty orders in Café 80s in Back To The Future Part II, and 6,500 have been made, selling for $20.15 (2015, geddit?) and the drink inside is original Pepsi. Unfortunately, it will only be available to buy online from Pepsi’s US website –  though expect bottles to appear at inflated prices on Ebay any day now.

Here’s the Pepsi Perfect ad to celebrate the anniversary:

If you’re a fan, check out the official Back To The Future website at http://www.backtothefuture.com , buy the new 30th anniversary DVD and blu-ray release of the trilogy, and best of all, watch this Toyota advert, launched today, featuring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd talking about which predictions the movie did get right about 2015:
